Most of us spend our entire lives under the duress of financial enslavement, with incalculable deleterious impact upon our mental health and quality of life, and all as there are plenty of resources to go around, making this perpetually stressful enslavement entirely unnecessary, and with few seeming to ask why, much less actively resisting this ‘reality’ popularly treated as if it’s the one and only possible reality. So, let’s ask: why?
Greed. The extraction of parasites paid for by the people. Paying the profits that end up almost exclusively in the hands of 5% of the population, so that they can have far more than they need to in order to substantially increase their quality of life; the same increases which most are denied as a consequence, the definition of oppression.
Think about it… the mortgage and rent payments, the corporate cost-cutting wages, the interest on credit cards, the absurdly profitable, overcharging medical and pharmaceutical industries, the mark-ups on every product and service etc. At EVERY point in the economic chain the many paying for the profiteering of the few; 95% paying into the ‘bottom line’ extracted by 5%, creating constant financial stress and hardship and restricting our potential and quality of life.
It’s a fact: we remain mired in the low-lying morass of human evolution, and, despite our technological advancements, have scarcely begun to ascend towards our heights.
